Melin Trefin - Welsh handwoven textiles and art
Melin Trefin is a handweaving centre owned and run by Jackie and Mari-Anne Maddocks (mother and daughter). Jackie holds a BA (hons) in woven textile and design from Farnham art school. The weaving centre is based in Pembrokeshire, west Wales. Jackie uses local Welsh fleece from both sheep and alpacas and incorporates natural local elements into her design such as local driftwood, sea glass and pebbles. Her inspiration is mainly derived from her Celtic heritage but also from admiration of traditional Scandinavian and Navajo design as well as local Pembrokeshire landscape.
